The AWD project will be transformational for South Australia’s economy.  Huge economic benefits will flow, conservatively estimated in excess of $1.4 billion over the next 10 years. 

Over 3000 direct and indirect jobs will be created – ranging from highly skilled trades through to naval architects, engineers, project managers, systems engineers and integrators.  Concentration of these skills in Adelaide provides a critical advantage in attracting future defence projects. 

The AWD project provides significant opportunities for local companies to compete for contracts to support:

  • infrastructure construction
  • ship consolidation, and  
  • property development. 

Techport Australia’s Supplier Precinct offers an outstanding opportunity for businesses to locate alongside anchor tenant ASC Pty Ltd. Stage one of the precinct covers 14 hectares and is already 50% sold. Site preparation has commenced on additional stages for future release.
