AIR WARFARE DESTROYER SYSTEMS CENTRE DEEDS SIGNED
The Minister for Defence, the Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon MP, announced today that the $8 billion Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) project is a step closer following the signing of a contract for its new headquarters in Adelaide, South Australia.

Raytheon Australia Announces South Australian Engineering Centre at Techport
ADELAIDE – 13 November 2008: The mission systems integrator for the Hobart Class Air Warfare Destroyer program today announced that it had signed an agreement to lease a new facility in the commercial precinct of Techport Australia that will become the Raytheon Australia South Australian Engineering Centre.

ADELAIDE-BASED ULTRA ELECTRONICS WINS AWD CONTRACT
Premier Mike Rann has welcomed the announcement that world-leading aerospace and defence electronics company Ultra Electronics has been chosen to supply the Undersea Warfare Sonar System for the Royal Australian Navy’s three air warfare destroyers (AWDs).

JOINT STRIKE FIGHTERS – $10 BILLION IN CONTRACTS UP FOR GRABS
Premier Mike Rann says the State Government will spearhead a bid to secure a slice of more than $10 billion in contracts identified by US Aeronautics giant Lockheed Martin as being available to Australianbased companies to help build the new Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
