The AWD project is the most complex ever undertaken by Defence in Australia. A key aim of this nation-building project is to ensure the benefits to industry are maximised to enhance Australia’s strategic industrial base.

Australian industry will deliver around 55 per cent of the products and services that must be delivered under the AWD Alliance. This will be followed by high-value through-life support contracts with local industry working on maintaining and upgrading the AWDs into the middle of the century.

The AWD Alliance supplier base has been established.

All Expressions of interest can now be made directly through the AWD Alliance partner sites:
Raytheon Australia
Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (formerly Defence Materiel Organisation)

The AWD Alliance will use the services of Industry Capability Network (ICN) on a case-by-case basis when searching out a new capability, however registrations of interest and work packages will no longer be advertised through the ICN website.
